This was a very challenging project for me. I had originally wanted to make the puzzle from scratch, but I am glad i did not spend all of the time I had on that. These separate puzzles were difficult in that I tried to make all of them the same but different at the same time. It was challenging, but I pulled through and made them look the best I could.
Watercolors
Painting with watercolor was a very fun project for me! I had never worked with watercolor paints prior to this project, so it was interesting to learn about all the different types ad techniques. Though it got a little frustrating sometimes, I powered through and learned to be more patient. Overall, it was a very interesting learning experience for me.
Printmaking.
Printmaking is something that I have never done before. I thought it would be more difficult than it was, however, it started out more difficult than it ended up being. As I went on, figuring out exactly what worked and what was easiest for me made the entire project fun. Some of my prints could have been more precise, but overall I believe they all turned out well.
Natural Object in Charcoal project.
My project was a drawn in charcoal sunflower. I originally started with a different drawing, but I think that the finished one was just as good if not better. It was difficult, considering that I had never used charcoal before this. It got a little easier to work with, however.
Japanese Stab Binding.
Japanese Stab Binding- This was a book-binding project where we made a sketchbook using the Japanese Stab Binding method of binding. I created a sketchbook that I believe was very pretty, although plain, and would get the job done that it needed to do. My binding was in pink thread, and I chose a maroon endpage. This project was a little difficult at first, but it got easier as I went on. Although, I did end up choosing a different binding pattern for my finished project than what I started with.
